Preparing For Summer

We have spent the past couple of days cleaning our lot and doing annual maintenance at the place we bought late last year.  There is still a ton of stuff to do.  We have found the original lot border and have cut back all of the plant growth to that line.  We are not allowed to increase the size of our lot beyond that original border.

I spent part of the past two days burning off the main portion of the gravel lot base.  The lot gets a little black with burnt ashes but it is a quick start to getting rid of vegetation.
I spent some time working on the sheds and determining what will be needed to keep them going for future use.  Cleaned the gutters, swept away the cobwebs and pulled several feet of ivy off them.

We still have much to do but we are taking a road trip east today returning sometime tomorrow afternoon.  We go home on Thursday and hopefully we can come back for a couple weeks at the end of the month.  While it can be miserable here when it is damp, cold and dreary, it is very pleasant when the sun is out or it is cloudy without precipitation.  At least you can go out and enjoy the day.
We had our first pallet fire yesterday and the coals were so good Mia had to roast a hotdog.  She said it was very tasty.  I burn most of the pallet and scrap wood that I don't use in projects.

We are expecting rain here today but we'll have good weather once we hit eastern Washington.

Hope all is well and thanks for dropping by.
