We left Watertown, South Dakota at around six-thirty this morning heading southwest across county roads through rolling hills and fields full of cattle with freshly born calfs. Our trip took us 362 miles to Rapid City, South Dakota. We left the trailer at my cousin's house and we are staying in a cheap motel, Sleep Inn and Suites. The room is nice and we arrived around two-fifteen and crashed for the first hour or so. We changed time zones again as we moved across the state and we are now in Mountain Time.
Except for a couple of stops we drove straight through. Mia didn't sleep too well last night so I did most of the driving with the exception of the last fifty miles. We are going to dinner shortly, at Famous Dave's BBQ.
We stopped for lunch in Wall at the Wall Drug. All along county highway 14 there were signs telling us to stop for ice cream, burgers, free donuts, free ice water, western wear, candy, trinkets, books, jewelry, rocks, gold and the list goes on and on. Signs littered the side of the roadway about every eighth of a mile. The place was fun and we did eat.
I am thinking it is time for dinner. Tomorrow we will head up to Deadwood and a couple of other places.
Hope all is well and thanks for stopping by.
