I had a very good friend take her own life. It was hard on me, yet so much harder on her husband and young children. So sad. My brother committed suicide when he was 20 years old. It's a drastic and permanent solution for what are possibly temporary problems. It always affects the family hardest. Give your friend the love, support, and understanding that she needs right now. It's generally something that is hard to talk about and people sometimes don't know how to show their sympathy, so they say nothing and that's even worse.
